Volunteers Always Needed

The Kingdom of Callaway Historical Society utilizes the gift of many volunteers.  We have some working on filing and organizing historic paperwork, while others work with vintage clothing, or scanning and cataloging photos, some working on obituaries, and some doing bookkeeping.  Those volunteers generally come one day per week for half a day or a full day.

We also ask for volunteers to help with events and those can be on the planning committees or simply help during the event itself.  Events include Trivia Night, the Tractor Drive, Quilt Show/Fashion Show, and Walking tours. Click to learn more about opportunities to help!

If you know of someone who would be interested in being a part of our volunteer “staff,” please notify Nancy Lewis at museum@callawaymohistory.org or call 573-642-0570.

Volunteer Profile: Alan and Jan Finke

Alan and Jan Finke moved to Fulton when their daughter, Heather, was pre-kindergarten. Heather was enrolled at Missouri School for the Deaf, and the Finke’s wanted to have Heather home each evening to share family time. Heather has a younger sister, Kristen.

Jan was a grade-school teacher and Alan a Registered Nurse prior to retirement. Both Alan and Jan are active in the Court Street Methodist Church as well as numerous other community organizations.

The Finke’s have five grandchildren who remain a vital part of their lives.

Jan is currently volunteering with KCHS’s vintage clothing section and Alan does our Moser’s receipts. Moser’s Foods offer not-for-profit organizations rebates with a certain number of receipt dollars spent.  The receipts must be tallied and bundled.
