Callaway Tapestries is Available for Purchase!

We are excited to share that Callaway Tapestries is here! It contains more stories and authors — so there’s more to learn about Callaway County!

The stories, articles, and poems from Callawegians throughout the county are written to celebrate the rich diversity of life in the past 200 years of the Kingdom of Callaway. The book is fully illustrated with wonderful vintage photographs from our archives.

Editor Bruce Hackmann noted recently,

"In its purest form, Callaway Tapestries is simply a celebration of life in Callaway County, as told through the eyes of the people who live it. Their shared experiences weave a broad tapestry of familiar themes that bind us together — living, working, farming, and witnessing history in our beloved county. These stories are thought-provoking, humorous, witty, and even whimsical. The breadth of topics is what makes this book special."

Callaway Tapestries is a follow-up to It Happened in Callaway with all-new stories and photos. Many thanks to all who submitted entries for both collaborations.

Books are available for $20 to KCHS members or $22 to nonmembers. Copies can be picked up at the Museum or order by calling 573-642-0570 or emailing museum@callawaymohistory.org.
